SÓLARGLEYPIR / SUN SWALLOWER

Skaftfell Art Center announces the forthcoming group exhibition: Sólargleypir: Sun swallower featuring works by artists Frederikke Jul Vedelsby, Gunndís Ýr Finnbogadóttir & Þorgerður Ólafsdóttir, Hanna Christel Sigurkarlsdóttir, Hildigunnur Birgisdóttir, Hreinn Friðfinnsson, Ólafur Elíasson, Una Margrét Árnadóttir & Örn Alexander Ámundason.
The exhibition coincides with the 10th anniversary of List í ljósi light festival in Seyðisfjörður and is curated by Director of Skaftfell Art Center, Celia Harrison.
After four long months the mountains have cast shadows over Seyðisfjörður, Sólargleypirconsiders both monumental and subtle ways of anticipating the sun’s return. The works featured in Sólargleypir are drawn from the artists’ catalogs to offer a reflection on this defining moment each year.

The opening will take place at List í ljósi on the 14th of February from 17:00.
