To study at KHM
Malmö Art Academy offers artistic education at bachelor and master level for aspiring artists. We also offer a research program for established artists and curators.
The teaching of fine art is not divided into artistic specializations, but as a student you can choose to move freely between different forms of artistic expression or immerse yourself in a particular form. During your studies, you have great opportunities to realize your visions and create a strong professional identity as an artist. You will be involved in new and inspiring contexts and be able to deepen your knowledge in the areas you are passionate about.
Our programs give you the opportunity to work with internationally active artists and teachers where individual guidance is a central part. The Royal Institute of Art collaborates with other art schools all over the world and has built up a large network over the years. The language of instruction is usually English and lectures with visiting artists, critics and curators as well as various forms of collaborative projects are natural elements. The courses are also characterized by the active artistic climate in the Öresund region, with its galleries, museums and other art institutions.
Studios
To develop your skills, you have around the clock access to the Academy's premises and your own studio. The studio-based programs offer a range of courses and projects in artistic design, theory and technique. As a student, you are free to choose between these options and thus build an individual study profile. Regardless of how you want to focus your work, your own artistic development is at the center and thus the individual artistic guidance. The studios are located in our buildings Båghallarna (Föraregatan 4) and Dimman (Bergsgatan 20).
Master's programme in Fine Arts in Artistic Research and PhD Programme in Fine Arts
We also offers an opportunity for those who want to develop their artistry towards research, through a research preparatory master's program and studies at doctoral level for established artists and curators.
